Wedding Gift Idea

Well, wedding season is here! That means scrolling through the registry, trying to find the "perfect gift." What if it's someone special to you or you want to do a special gift not on the registry? Well, why not monogrammed towels? This is such a beautiful gift that is rarely given to the happy couple. Here are a few options:

Stores like Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. have great deals on towels. It may be tricky to find the right color, but may be worth it to travel to a few stores to get the good deal. :) A customer contacted me and wanted to have towels done for her brother's wedding--2 bath towels and 4 hand towels. So, off I went to shop and found a great deal at Home Goods--$42 (before tax) for all 6 towels! And they were really thick and good quality. Add the monogram for each towel and that's only $94! Again, if you aren't looking to spend that much, you could always do just hand towels or two bath towels. I think the bath towels were about $8 and the hand towels about $6.

Here is a picture of how they turned out:

If you want to go with a little higher quality towel, Pottery Barn has great towels. 650 gram weight: $7/ hand towel and $14/ bath towel. They are so thick and monogram really well too. Here are a few I did for a customer:

So, if you have a wedding to go to this summer, don't feel confined to the registry. Get creative! A monogram can be put on almost anything...

And.....we're back!

So sorry for the delay....Lots of excitement going on around here! About the time of my last post, I found out I was expecting our first child. We are SO very excited! However, the first trimester left a lot to be desired. I was so very nauseated and tired. I barely had the energy to cook and clean. Unfortunately my monogramming machine got very little use during those first few months. Now that I'm in my 2nd trimester, the energy has definitely returned and I'm definitely staying busy! I'm in the process of one very large order (for me and my one machine, anyway) and have two orders in the queue! I'm so very lucky and blessed!

I promise to post regularly and with fun gift and monogramming ideas!

Stay tuned!

Custom Order - Birthday time!

One of my very best friends called me to see if I could make a birthday shirt for her daughter's 3rd birthday to wear with her birthday tutu! This was the first opportunity I've had to do a birthday shirt (which, by the way, are all the rage now!) so I of course was very excited...not to mention it is for a girl very dear to my heart!

The birthday color is purple, so I picked a cute light purple fabric with swirls. This little girl is a girly girl so I made sure it was the perfect fabric and used a yellow fabric for the crown on top of the number. This was the perfect design for her!

Here is how it turned out:

And here's the birthday girl!

What a great model! Are your little ones into Birthday Shirts? If I didn't care so much that it would be double digits and don't necessarily like to advertise my age, I would so have one!

Custom Order: Bieber Fever!

I LOVE to do custom orders. I would say 95% of my business is custom orders. It's so fun to take people's ideas and bring them to life, so to speak. So, I decided to make it a weekly feature! I hope you continue to tune in to see what fun things I'm up to around here!

A few weeks ago, someone e-mailed me to see if I could make a "Future Mrs. Bieber" t-shirt for her 5 year old daughter. The daughter requested it and she couldn't find one anywhere! Too cute. So, after e-mailing fonts back and forth, little Bieber girl picked the perfect font for her shirt. And just happened to be done in her favorite color!
I thought it turned out pretty cute...what about you? Know anyone with Bieber Fever??

New Beginnings

So, here we go! A fresh start for 2011! I'm so excited about what this year has in store. A new machine, new perspective, fresh ideas and a renewed excitement about my business! I've just finished my first order of the year and I've got one more to finish. One of my resolutions this year, in my personal life and business, is to blog more about what is going on. So, here we go for 2011--it's going to be a great year!

My clients are bringing such cute ideas to have monogrammed! I leave you with one that I did for Christmas gifts for teachers gifts. A client took advantage of a GREAT Old Navy "doorbuster deal" on Black Friday. She bought fleece scarves for about $3-4 each and had them monogrammed with the initials of her child's teacher. They turned out so cute! What a great idea for the $10-$15 price point for friends and family!
Didn't they turn out cute?
