About Me

Welcome to Lindsey Lou Designs!

I'm Lindsey and I run this place. If you asked me a year ago if I would be running my own business now, I would have laughed. But then I probably would have asked who told you and where I could chat with them as well!

I grew up loving jewelry. I'm from a small town in South Georgia, so when I got my weekly allowance, I would beg my Mom to take me to Wal-Mart to pick something out from the jewelry case. Of course within a few hours my finger would be green from the fake gold, but I loved the way it sparkled and shined. From then, I started getting into crafts.  Ok, fast-forward a few years. Ok, quite a few actually. In my senior year of college, my then-fiancĂ© (now husband) was deployed to Iraq.  To occupy my time I started making jewelry. Seeing a beautiful pair of earrings or bracelet that I made with my own hands was such a feeling of pride and accomplishment. How awesome! After he returned and I had my first real "grown up" job, I realized I didn't really love the corporate world. I knew that I wanted to have my own business someday but didn't know if I would ever have the chance. I started Lindsey Lou Designs a year after graduating college and started by making simple beaded jewelry for friends and family. Handmade jewelry makes great gifts! Fast-forward to 2009. My husband left for Iraq again. I wasn't entirely satisfied with my corporate job...again. So, while still occasionally making jewelry, I really wanted to get into monogramming. After my sweet husband bought me a machine I was hooked! A few months later, I left the corporate world and wondered if I could actually make this work.... So, here we are! In five short years, Lindsey Lou Designs has evolved from just a few beaded jewelry items to custom designs and monogrammed gifts!

Oh, and one last thing.... My middle name is not Lou. Here in the South, names tend to just be added on. Like "Sally May" or "Lindsey Lou." Not quite sure why, but I kind of like it. And it stuck.

Thanks for visiting!

Blessings!
